We offer organic sage essential oil for drinks, obtained from the plant Salvia officinalis. In international trade the oil bears the name Sage organic essential oil for drinks. The composition of the oil includes only the volatile substances of the plant itself. The substances come from organically cultivated plantations, so the liquid remains entirely organic. The organic liquid remains free of preservatives and colourants, and its olfactory side derives entirely from the plant material. The plant material gives the oil a pale yellow colour, which the stalk as the part used determines directly. The stalk also carries the scent, in which freshness intertwines with light sweetness and with floral-fruity tones at medium to strong intensity. The intensity is due to steam distillation, which transfers the volatile profile of the raw material in pure form. The raw material comes from the plantations in Bulgaria, where the temperate climate suits the species. The species is a subshrub from the family Lamiaceae, whose natural distribution covers Southern Europe and the Balkan Peninsula within the temperate climate zone. The subshrub accumulates its volatile substances precisely in the glandular hairs on the aboveground part of the stalk. The hairs on the aboveground part determine the predominance of oxygenated monoterpenes, whose share in the product changes together with the development phase of the subshrub. The monoterpenes give the product a recognisable olfactory character, which is why its fresh side remains clearly pronounced. The clearly pronounced freshness accompanies the pale yellow sage liquid.

Storage
